5 Easy Ways to Support Local Flower Farmers

…even if you don’t need a bouquet every week!

Supporting local flower farms isn’t just about buying flowers, even though we love when you do! It’s about choosing beauty, sustainability and community over convenience and imported flowers. Whether you’re a flower lover, a local shopper or just someone who wants to help small farms thrive, here are five easy ways you can support your local flower farmer:

  1. Buy Local Bouquets When You Can

Every bouquet you buy from a flower farm is one grown, harvested and arranged with care, often just hours before you pick it up. These flowers are fresher, more unqiue and grown without the huge carbon footprint of imported flowers

Castorfolk bouquets are available every Saturday at our self-serve farmstand - easy to grab and always seasonal!

  2. Follow & Share on Social Media

A quick like, comment or share helps more than you know. Social media is how many small farms find new customers and build awareness. Even if you can’t buy that week, sharing a post help your favorite farm grow.

You can find us on instagram and Facebook @Castorfolk - we’d love to see your photos if you tag us!

  3. Tell a Friend (Or Five)

Word of mouth is powerful. Mention your local flower farm to coworkers, friends or family. Host a dinner with a local bouquet on the table. Recommend us to brides to be, local event planners or even your favorite coffee shop.

Bonus: Bring a bouquet as a host gift or thank you and tell them where it came from.

  4. Choose Local for Events

Hosting a bridal shower, baby shower or small party? Opt for a local flower bucket or custom bouquet. Many flower farms (like ours!) offer budget friendly bulk blooms that you can arrange yourself.

At Castorfolk, we offer buckets of blooms for DIY events. Reach out to us to learn more!

  5. Support in the Off-Season

The farm may be quiet in winter, but your support can still make a difference. Share a post, sign up for emails, or plan to buy a flower subscription in spring. Every small action helps keep farms alive through the slower months.

Thank you for cheering on Castorfolk and local farms like ours. We truly couldn’t do it without you.
