In Full Bloom: What’s Growing at Castorfolk This Season

This field started as a patch of grass surrounded by honeysuckle. This spring we cut down branch after branch, dragged brush and sod-cut the grass to prepare for rows of flowers to be planted. As we near the height of summer blooms, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the beauty growing all around us and share a peek at the flowers we’ve nurtured here at Castorfolk this season.

Whether you have visited our farmstand, picked up a bouquet or just followed along online, thank you for being apart of this journey.

Here’s a look at the blooms that have brought our fields, and your tables, to life this year.

Sunflowers - The Heart of Summer

Towering above the rest, our sunflowers bring sunshine to every corner of the farm, and to every bouquet. Their golden faces are the heart of most of the bouquets that we make here at the farm.

We love them for:

  • Their bold beuaty and strong stems

  • Their long vase life

  • The way they brighten any room with a single stem

Zinnias- Bold, Cheerful and Always Blooming

If flowers had personalities, zinnias would be the life of the party. With every color of the rainbow blooming out in our field, these blooms are reliable, vibrant and full of character.

Why we love them:

  • They just keep going… cut and they’ll bloom again

  • They hold up beautifully in bouquets

  • Their nostalgic charm makes every bunch feel like summer

Cosmos - Soft and Whimsical

Cosmos bring a little magic to the field. With their airy stems and delicate daisy-like blooms, they float above the rest like flower fairies.

We’re growing them in deep pinks and bright whites, and they add the perfect touch of whimsy and movement to every bouquet.

Reasons we adore them:

  • Their lacy foliage and graceful stems

  • Their ability to make any arrangement feel garden-grown and romantic

  • The way they sway in the summer breeze

Our little flower farm may be simple right now, but every stem we grow is cared for by hand and grown with purpose. From seed to bouquet, these flowers have been nurtured in our soil and harvested with love.

You can find our fresh bouquets every Saturday at the Castorfolk farmstand:

Open Saturdays through September

Follow along @castorfolk for weekly updates and what’s blooming next.

We’re so glad to share these blooms and this season with you! Thanks for growing with us.
